Movie + Photography + Party Décor + StoryBox + Fun and Empowering Experience!
Charlie shared this movie with guests at his Bar Mitzvah reception, offering an engaging and heartfelt alternative to the standard photo montage. He demonstrates his passions, shares his aspirations and expresses gratitude and appreciation for his family, friends and religion.
Charlie’s story tells how two ancient cultures – Jewish Maccabee warriors and Inca emperors – inspire who he is and what he hopes to do with his life. movingStories photographed and filmed Charlie in action as hockey player, technology fanatic, trumpet player and aspiring marine. The movie also highlights his mitzvah project donating a combination soccer-goal-and-basketball-hoop to a village of Maasai children in Africa where he visited on a recent trip. movingStories interviewed Charlie, meticulously planned the shoot and crafted his speech, helping him master the presentation on film using cue cards and directorial guidance.
Movie, Poster, StoryBox and Essence Photography
Based on original photography of Charlie and his favorite things, movingStories created a “Life of Charlie” poster that captures his personality and passions. The poster welcomed guests at his Bar Mitzvah reception and now hangs proudly on his wall at home. The package also included a custom-designed StoryBox containing meaningful extras that will serve as a memento of this special time in his life. These items include an envelope holding miniature photos of his favorite things, bookmarks, screen captures from his movie, handprint and signature, favorite quote and love letter from his Mom. Charlie also received a shadow box photo collage and essence photography, including an image of Charlie’s hands holding two special necklaces given to him by his Mom and Dad in Masada, Israel where his Bar Mitzvah ceremony was held.
In Their Words
Thank you so much for capturing the essence and pride of what my son Charlie wanted to communicate to all our guests at his Bar Mitzvah celebration! Charlie’s Living Video Portrait was an opportunity for him to pay tribute to both sides of his family and to who he is becoming as a young man. Charlie’s grandmother came all the way from Peru and she said, “I received a wonderful gift from my grandson, knowing how much pride he has in his Inca family heritage.” I also shared the video with family members who were not able to join us and they loved it! Charlie enjoyed the entire movie-making process so much! Being in front of your camera allowed his free spirit and “joie de vivre” to come alive. You made it so easy and fun. What a wonderful experience it was! Finally, thank you for the delicious chocolate-chip cookies every time we visited the movingStories studio.
